Tucked into Wanneroo about half an hour north of Perth, the Botanic Gardens give you established trees, seasonal flowers, rockeries and waterfalls, all in the one private garden. As a Perth wedding photographer it is a dream to shoot, soft light through the canopy and greenery wherever you point the camera, the kind of place where the setting does the heavy lifting and you just get to enjoy your day.
What to expect
Your garden day, moment by moment
A garden that does the decorating
Established trees, seasonal flower beds, rockeries and little waterfalls. Wanneroo Botanic Gardens is green from every angle, so the venue itself carries half your styling before a single flower goes up.
Two ways to say I do
There is the Merbau timber wedding deck, built so chairs and heels sit flat, comfortable for around 70 guests, and an open garden lawn that opens out to about 150. Both are wrapped in green, both photograph beautifully.
Greenery in every direction
Once the formalities are done, the gardens become your portrait studio. Big leafy backdrops, soft light through the canopy, and plenty of quiet corners to slip away to for a few minutes, just the two of you.
Room to celebrate
The grounds hold two reception spaces, one for an intimate sit-down and one for a bigger crowd, or you can stay out in the gardens and let the celebration spill across the lawns as the light drops.
Half an hour north, a world away
Tucked into Wanneroo about thirty minutes north of the city, it is an easy run for northern-suburbs couples and a proper green escape for everyone else. You arrive and the city just falls away.
